Week 3 was fantastic. I really, and I mean REALLY, like the TAVA dance 1 for my cardio. My only issue is that I was having a really hard time following the DVD since there is no rear view for learning/following along with the dance. I mean, I thought I was pretty coordinated but trying to reverse the steps while learning at the same time made me feel like I had two left feet. After looking around the internet, I was able to find this rear view via Well + Good that I have been using for all of my dance cardio this week. It is about 4 minutes long so I just repeat it 4x for 15 mins or 8x for 30 mins. I also figured out how to stream this on our TV through the AppleTV which has made all the difference. I posted a quick tutorial on my Instastories in case anyone was interested. If you missed it and are interested, just let me know and I will put a quick video up on YouTube with all of the steps 🙂 It works for any streaming content so you can use it with Tracy Anderson’s Real Time streaming as well!

This week I also started connecting with other Tracy Anderson users on Instagram using the #TAmily and #TAmilyshares hashtags. I feel like this has made a huge difference for me. It is so motivating to see all of these amazing women, many of who (whom?) are also moms with young children, getting in their workouts and looking so freaking fantastic! Plus, you start to feel like you are part of something, rather than just someone working out at home alone. Plus you can pick up all kinds of great tips. For example, this week @partofthetamily posted about how she had Down by Marian Hill on repeat for the muscular structure workouts. After listening to it, I was obsessed! Perfect song for MS! Anyway, I would highly recommend following some other TAmmers on Instagram to anyone else just starting out. I have started to use #TAbeginner on all of my TA posts as well hoping that I can find some other newbies to connect with.
This Week’s Schedule:
Ballet Beautiful Total Body Workout (60 min)
Tracy Anderson Precision Toning (60 min)
Total Ballet Beautiful 1 hours Total Tracy Anderson 3.83 hours Grand Total 4 hours 50 minutes
I am happy with my progress so far. I think it is totally unrealistic to expect big drops every single week. So, you probably noticed that I worked out every day again this week. This is not my intention going forward and I actually think that not giving your body a break negatively impacts your progress especially when you are just starting out. I only did this so I could earn my “Ring in the New Year Challenge” achievement on my Apple Watch which requires you to close all three activity rings each day for a full week Mon-Sun. I just barely missed it last week by not closing my Stand ring on Friday because I forgot to put my watch on until about 10 am… ugh so frustrating. Anyway, I am getting it today and will be moving to working out 5 days a week (Sun-Sat) with 2 rest days.
This week I was able to make it through the Mat 1: Fully Body Beginner twice completing all of the reps which I felt REALLY good about. I also tried out the Mat 2: Chair Sequence for the first time and OH MY HOLY HAMSTRINGS was I sore for days after. I also completed the full Precision Toning this week which felt SO MUCH harder than the last time I did it. I am thinking this is because my form is getting better and I am hitting the proper angles which is making the workout much more effective.
For this upcoming week, I have decided that I am going to start really focusing on moving through the Mat for Beginners DVD so I can get strong enough to move on to Metamorphosis in the next few weeks. This means I’ll be doing 30 Mins of Dance Cardio followed by Mat 2: Chair Sequence so you’ll see much less variety in my schedule but I’ll be sticking more closely to
Have you tried either Ballet Beautiful or Tracy Anderson to lose weight after having a baby? I’d love to hear about your experience in the comments below.
