Losing the Baby Weight Week 8 Results

For week 8 I had a few big changes.  First, I moved my workout from our family room in the lower level down to the basement which means those of you who follow me on Instagram now have to look at our storage and sometimes the mountain of baby stuff we need to donate.  So sorry about that! One day it will be finished and everything will be hidden away behind proper doors. But for now, I am working with what I have.  This location change has a few big benefits. Dance Cardio is WAY easier when you aren’t on carpeting. No more feeling like I am dislocating my knee with every pivot!  I now don’t have to inconvenience the entire family every time I want to workout and finally, if I can ever figure out a way switch to morning workouts, this location will work much better for that.

Second, I decided to trial Tracy’s Real-Time Video Streaming rather than starting Metamorphosis Omnicentric.  I got a lot of really great feedback from the #TAmily on Instagram when I asked for advice on which route to go.  There were lots of good, valid points on both sides.  In the end, I decided I would need to figure out which option was going to work best for me since we are all different.  The TAVA DVD I purchased was supposed to come with a unique 6 digit code that gives you access to a two week free trial. Unfortunately for me, when I went to enter my code, I couldn’t find it.  Maybe my DVD was produced before this offer was in place?  I know other people have also mentioned seeing a code on her Clear bars, but my Target didn’t have any of those 🙁  I was really bummed out because I thought that I wasn’t going to be able to trial streaming and I wasn’t so keen on signing up for a month at a cost of $90 if I wasn’t sure I would like it.  But then I found a posting on a forum that gave this link and said to enter the code HEALTH at checkout.  The offer was supposed to have expired back on 5/30/16 but it still worked for me on 2/19/17.  If you have any interest in trying out streaming for yourself, I would suggest doing it quickly before the link and code finally expire.  For those of you wondering, no, you do not need to provide a credit card, it is truly a no-strings attached free trial.

With Streaming you have access to the current week’s Master Class, this week’s Beginner Master Class, Dance Cardio (current + prior), TAVA Cardio (current + prior), Introduction (Tracy’s original introduction from 12/17/14 + the 12/17 Master Class), Archives (an archive of prior month introductions – they seem to have stopped this in September of 2016).  The layout is clean and very easy to navigate:

I absolutely love all of the different TAVA options and love how everything is rear view which is so much easier for me to follow than trying to mirror movements when watching a DVD.  I found out that some of the TAVA dances have breakdowns at the beginning (12/28 “Happy Dance”), others break it down through the dance as your learning it (12/14 – my favorite so far) while there are also some that have zero breakdown (12/7), you just follow along and try to pick it up the best you can.

TAVA 12/14 (30 min) + BMC 2/22 (25 min)

Sat:

BMC 2/22 (25 min) + Metamorphosis Omnicentric 1-10 (30 min)

Total Dance Cardio 1hour 25 minutes  Total Muscular Structure 3 hours 52 minutes Grand Total 5 hours 17 minutes

 

This is the second week in a row that I felt good enough to skip one of my rest days so I was able to get in 6 workouts again.  I have to tell you that I really enjoyed the streaming classes.  I now understand what everyone means when they talk about the energy of the live classes.  You just feel really pumped up and inspired.  The BMC was awesome.  On day 1 I started with my ankle weights on but took them off after a few reps.  I didn’t feel like I was ready for them.  This class was no joke.  I was very sore the next day and was wondering if you are supposed to just work through the soreness.  I asked what others do on Instagram and everyone said work through it!  So I did 🙂  And amazingly it helped.  I was a little less sore each day and I felt so much stronger.  Yesterday I ended up finding this on the FAQs for her Water Mill Studio which just reinforced what everyone had told me and my own experience:

 

I’m very sore—should I wait until I’m not sore to keep working out?

No, consistency is key when you’re asking your body to transform. In addition, continuing to move through the workouts despite soreness will help your muscles release some of the toxins that are creating the soreness in the first place.

 

I’m not sure if it was the crazy warm 78 degree weather (in February!) or the fact that the baby finally (FINALLY) slept through the night but the 2/22 BMC was so much easier for me than 2/15.  I was able to keep up and even wore my ankle weights. Of course I was sweating buckets by the end, but I felt great.

Because I am on a two week trial I am still trying to figure out if streaming is the right next step for me to have the best results.  I have been wondering if I will be missing out on “balancing my imbalances” if I skip Metamorphosis.  This is the reason that I did both BMC and Metamorphosis on Saturday.  I wanted to be able to compare the two and see which one I liked more.  Metamorphosis is great, but I was surprised that I was able to go through it and complete all of the reps even after I had just done BMC.  I also really missed the music and energy you get from the live class on streaming. When I asked what feedback other people had on Instagram, most everyone said to just go with whichever I liked more, either way you are getting an amazing workout.  I am glad I still have week left to decide. At this point, I am leaning towards streaming but we’ll see where my head is next Saturday.

Down another pound?  I’ll take it!  I was actually surprised that I didn’t have more reductions in my measurements because I was finally able to fit into my size 2P pants this week…. I am getting so excited because now, I just have one more size to go and I will be able to fit into all of my pre-pregnancy clothes again!  YAY!  I have so many amazing dresses that I haven’t been able to wear for years, I can hardly wait!!

    I got the free trial too I am beyond excited. I will be in a tough place after the free trial but I will for sure continue meta because of the cost. And it still challenges you! You should have seen me yesterday with my new level. Snot running down my face, sweating everywhere like a hog. It was not pretty but it was amazing. So glad you are doing well with this, you look FANTASTIC and I mean that!!!

      Rachael + Natalia I got it!! so excited I did BMC 24 mins, OMG! I remembered on the TA community facebook page someone had said free codes don’t work if you use the same account that you had used with any previous free offers. I registered again using another email account there it was access granted! I had to really take care of my shoulder, experienced some buffering I expected that, where I live the internet broad band can be slow, but that said it did it! a sweaty mess post workout (no heat) Like you Natalia I will be in a though place too because of the cost (I live in the UK) I have Meta as well.

        I am at work right now and I am counting down the hours until I get home, put baby to nap and then try out the cardio options! My wrist is sooo sore and I should really take a day off from mat work to be safe. But the cardio looks like so much fun!! Was BMC more challenging than meta do you think? And what centric are you doing?

            I am doing hipcentric. I just tried the beginner streaming and though it was fun and felt like i was working out with Tracy in the flesh, I think the level of Hipcentric I just started was much much more challenging. I love streaming for the cardio options but the masters class is more of a time commitment than I’m allowed at the moment so I think when my trial is over, I will for sure go back to continuity. Level 180 – 191 is kicking my ass!!!

      Yay! Trying out streaming is a fun change even if you know you will go back to Meta for sure. No doubt that they are both challenging! Tracy’s method is so amazing!! You can do it for years and still be challenged. I am so happy with my results so far 🙂 and I know I am going to hit my goal of getting my body back to its pre-baby shape ❤️

    I thought streaming was fun, however struggled a bit with some of the moves my shoulder didn’t like it (bummer!), I work up a few times in the night in a lot of pain, I think that it was the moves like the plank and doing the twist move, then balancing on one arm. i took a rest day today. I will have to modifiy a lot if and when those types of moves are involved for this trial. I shoulder issue is an old one, I am currently working with a physiotherapist to help! Because I have done Meta before I felt a more comprehsive workout with meta, however saying that i was preoccupied with not hurting my shoulder i know my form wasn’t great and i am sure with great form you would get great results ( I am feeling sore in my abs, the back of my leg and glute)
