AmorePacific Skincare Review

I recently tried AmorePacific skincare for my dry sensitive skin. Is it worth the high price tag? Here I share my first impressions and overall review. | iheartmomlife.com

Earlier this month Sephora offered a  free AmorePacific Deluxe Sample set for VIBs.  Normally, I wouldn’t be interested in trying new skincare products because I have super sensitive skin and everything irritates it.  But this offer came at just the right time. I had noticed that over the past two months my current skincare routine just wasn’t cutting it anymore.  My skin had been looking more and more dry, dull and tired. Yuck, right?  I am pretty sure it is my age finally starting to catch up to me. I mean, I am not in my 20s or even early 30s anymore and I am so sleep deprived since the baby is back to getting up 1-2x per night (ugh, so painful). Also, I was almost out of my current face cream and I needed conditioner so I thought, why not give it a try?   Read More…

Stitch Fix #3 – June 2016

Join me as I rebuild my closet after baby #2. I am trying to find a good mix of office appropriate and casual clothes that will flatter my petite frame and transition well as I continue to lose my baby weight. Oh, and since I am nursing & pumping they have to be accessible too. Sound like a tall order? It is! Hopefully this series is helpful to other #workingmoms #pumpingmoms | iheartmomlife.com

I am back with Stitch Fix #3! I know, I know . . . you are probably thinking, didn’t you already have a Fix this month? In my defense, I only ended up keeping one item from my last Fix  so it totally makes sense that I wasted no time scheduling my next one . . . right?

Much to my delight, this time I was able to schedule it to arrive in just over a week versus the two weeks it took for the first and second.  I asked my stylist to send me some nice color to help me round out my, still, very limited post-baby work wardrobe for summer.  I was also hoping to have pieces that coordinated with each other or back to my first Fix.

My First Stitch Fix – May 2016

Join me as I rebuild my closet after baby #2. I have been on the fence about trying Stitch Fix for the past several months. Since I am still in the process of losing my baby weight, I didn’t really want to invest in any more work clothes but spending the last 10 weeks rotating the three bottoms and handful of tops that only “sort-of” fit me, I finally hit my limit.  I absolutely could-not-wait any longer to add a few new items into my super-limited post-baby wardrobe. So, I thought this was the perfect time to finally pull the trigger and schedule my first fix. Read More…

Kiinde Twist Review

Kiinde Twist Review | iheartmomlife.com

I am not sure why it has taken me so long to put together a review for the Kiinde system but I am going to fix that right now.  The Kiinde Twist is a “universal direct-pump breast milk collection, storage and feeding system.” The idea is that you can pump directly into the bags, freeze those and then when it is time for your little one to eat you just pop the pouch into the bottle holder, pop the nipple on and you are good to go.  You can recycle the pouches (yay for recycling!) and then you are only left with the holder, the nipple and the cap to wash.  Wait, did you catch that?  At the end of all of this you only have three things to wash! Honest Company Diapers and Wipes Review

If you are pregnant or recently had a baby there is no doubt that you have seen the Honest Company's ads for their diapers and wipes. | iheartmomlife.com

If you are pregnant or recently had a baby there is no doubt that you have seen the Honest Company’s ads for their diapers and wipes.  They are touted as an eco-friendly, non-toxic alternative to the big brands and come in lots of adorable prints.  Their marketing message is spot on and resonates with a lot of moms who are concerned about limiting their baby’s exposure to chemicals and generally caring about the environment. I was definitely interested in giving these diapers and wipes a spin with the birth of our second baby. Read More…

Aveda Smooth Infusion Review

Aveda Smooth Infusion Review | iheartmomlife.com

I recently came across an ad for Aveda’s new Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight. The ad featured a model with perfectly shiny smooth hair and said to “Forget everything you know about straightening hair.” It promised to progressively straighten and let you go back to curls when you want. Naturally, I was interested.

For those of you who don’t know, I have very curly hair that I fight with on the daily.  Pre-baby I had great spiral curls that I would rock more often than not. After baby my hair went crazy and the curl fell out (!) so I was just left with weird frizzy hair 🙁 Now 3 years later, I have about 6 inches of curly re-growth and then the rest is just wavy/straightish hair. Given the current state of my hair, I have no choice but to straight/curl it every time I wash it.  And let me tell you, that it is a HUGE production.  I usually wash the night before, air-dry over night and then spend ~45 minutes with a curling iron both straightening and curling it simultaneously. Because this is such a pain, I have been on a quest to find hair products that will help me whip this hair into shape and take the least amount of time possible because I really don’t have an extra 45-60 minutes to deal with this hair every day but I refuse to give in to a daily bun.

Mercedes GLK vs Audi Q5 vs Volvo XC60

Some people like shopping for a new car other people love shopping for a new car I am not either of those people. Unfortunately, the lease on my current SUV was almost finished so I had no choice but to find a new vehicle. This time I was looking for a vehicle that I could buy and drive for a long time. Which meant that reliability and total cost of ownership would be more important factors than they had been in the past.
